New Job!

So I got a new job that I will be starting in a few weeks. I went in to PG Junior High to get signed up for their sub list and I ran into the vice principal who is in our ward. He told me that they had a position available for a tracker and that I should apply. Yesterday I had the interview and they called me later that evening telling me I got the job! I'm really excited to be starting something full time (with the exception of summer vae-k of course) at a school. Hopefully it will be something to open doors for a teaching job in the future.

In other news... We are getting new carpet next week! Whoo Hoo! Buh-Bye blue carpet!!:)

Ohhh Blogging....

So I'm really bad a blogging because I feel like I always need a bunch of pictures to prove that we do more with our lives than just work and be bums. Well.... I've decided to think of our blog more as a Journal as a way to record our own family history because just like blogging, I'm also bad at journaling! ( I think that's a word...) So hopefully I will be a little better and keeping this up to date. You might notice that I put up stuff from last year because I'm hoping to make note of the things we've been doing with our lives! Enjoy!

Lava Hot Springs

Every November we go to Lava Hot Springs to celebrate Marnae's birthday but this last year she was pregnant with Roman and so we postponed the festivities. This weekend, we went with Marnae, Dennis and two of their friends up there to hang out in the hot "mineral pools". We had a lot of fun. It was nice to just relax in the hot water and hang out with each other!

Check out Dennis's heart shaped chest hair

Maui 2011

We were SO excited to go to Hawaii again. We feel really lucky to get the chance to vacation every winter and this year Bree came with us!

Car ride to airport

We started out on Saturday by flying to LA. Flying standby can be a little tricky and nerve racking, but we lucked out by getting first class seats!

Unfortunately, our plane to Maui did not leave until the next morning so we spent our nigh in luxurious LA airport...

We had a blast and we did WAY to much stuff to post about so here are some pics from our trip..

Bree LOVED snorkeling. We saw turtles every time we got in the water.

Bree's a fish out of water! She was always swimmin, even on land;)

Tyson started burying Bree, what bree didn't realize was she wasn't going to have any hands to prevent tyson from putting his foot in her mouth:0

We found a coconut tree outside of our room and we spend the night plotting on how to get a coconut. When I started comparing tyson to Bear Grylls he ran at the tree with his bare hands and feet and snatched a coconut! He's "Boss" as Bree would say..

Our favorite hike in the Bamboo forest

After hiking the falls in the bamboo forest, you come to a river where you have to ditch your stuff, swim upstream, hike that small fall and then it opens up to the most beautiful waterfall I've ever seen! It's our favorite spot but since we had to swim upstream, we couldn't bring a camera to take any pics. But is sure is an adventure!

Tyson's favorite thing to do is spear fish. Here are some of his (stinky) catches;)

On the coast

Sweet waterfall we hiked to and swam in

The whole trip Tyson was scouting out coconut trees and plucking fresh coconuts for himself

Hawaii is so beautiful and full of the funnest stuff to do. We are so grateful for Ave and Erin and my parents in helping us go on this trip. Love you guys!

Bree=Future Aggie!

Coming fall, this girl will be heading up to Logan to go to USU! Bree is VERY excited to be an Aggie:)

Erin's Birthday

A few months ago, we celebrated Erin's birthday. This year we had a big party at Noah's with TONS of good food, fun games, and all the best peeps!

Tyson and Annie on the DDR

Just hanging out!

A little ping-pong!

This pic is my fav of them!

Happy Birthday Erin! Thanks for the awesome party!

Christmas 2010

We had a really great Christmas this year. It is my favorite time!! All the fam gets together and it is always a lot of fun to visit and play games.

We started off the holiday by having the Brown family get-together at Ave and Erin's. We had a great dinner and then played our white-elephant game that has now become tradish. Bree won toilet paper again this year haha.

The grand kids' white elephant game.

Ave and Erin got us these super cute gifts for xmas:)
Love them!

On Christmas eve night, we went to Grandma and Grandpa Belliston's to have our annual Christmas eve party where we have dinner and then Santa comes. We sing Christmas songs and then have a gift exchange. After the party- Dad, Mom, Josh and Patrice came down to our house in PG to spend the night. We played settlers and watched a Christmas Carol and then went to bed. Next morning, Patrice woke us up nice and early to open presents. We had a really good time with our family and it seems that all of us got what we wanted that year:)

StarCraft 2 for Tyson

Super sweet new life jacket for me!

And Bree got a custom sweatshirt with Josh's face on it. Probably the best gift you could EVER get;)

Halloween 2010

For Halloween this year Tyson was Napolean Dynamite, I was Deb, and Bree was an Avatar. We started out the night by going to Josh and Alisha's for their ward's Halloween trunk or treat and dinnder and then later to the Caldwell's for the big dance part-a.

Who's costume is the best??
Turns out it was Bree! She won the costume contest for the night at J&A's party:)

We Survived Tsunami 2011!

As you might have heard, yesterday Japan was hit with a massive earthquake. The earthquake was the 5th largest ever recorded and has created a lot of destruction. As a result of the earthquake, a tsunami was created and was directed at Hawaii where we are currently vacationing.

At 12 AM we got a knock on the door. Not being used to the 3 hour time difference, we had been asleep since 9:00. The man at the door was pounding and yelling. He waited about 2 seconds for a response before busting into our resort room yelling for us to wake up. Dazed, I got up and went out of the room to find this guy standing in our doorway. Since I was still mostly asleep, I had a hard time understanding what the guy was telling me (He was probably wondering why I was standing there speechless and glaring at him). The man informed us that there was a Tsunami and that the alarms had been going off for about two hours already. Still half asleep all I could do was stare at him still.... He continued to tell me that it was very serious and that we needed to evacuate immediately as the entire building had already been evacuated. I finally started to register what the man was saying and quickly yelled at Tyson and Bree and told them we needed to get out. We were told to go the the evacuation center which was at an elementary school up the road. We grabbed some bottles of water and some extra clothes, got in our car and headed to safety. The weird thing was "safety" was only about 3 blocks up from our resort. When we got there I told Tyson, "Wow, I feel so much safer now..."

After listening to the radio and the mayor, we found out that the tsunami was estimated to hit around 3:30 AM. Realizing that we would be sleeping in the car, we decided to walk back down to our resort (since the roads were closed) to grab some pillows and blankets. When we got back to our car, we wanted to make a bed on the grass next to our car. As we were looking for a place to lie down, some locals informed us that we were best to sleep in our car unless we didn't mind cockroaches crawling on us. YIKES! So we settled in our car for a long sleepless night.

Throughout the night the sirens continued to sound and we waited and waited for any new news. On the radio they kept us as up to date as they could on the situation. We were sad to hear of the massive impact the earthquake and tsunami had on Japan and we could only wait and see what was going to happen in Hawaii.

At about 3:45 the first tsunamis started to hit. Fortunately, the area we were in was not effected by the wave. Very close down the road, there was some flooding on the roads with about 6inces of water. In Lahina, which is a place we like to go, they had a 9 foot wave, we haven't heard much about what is going on there. At about 6 in the morning we were finally able to get through the blocked roads and back to our resort. Today the island is still on tsunami watch and nobody is allowed to go in the water. We are very lucky to have not been affected, now we are just a little sleep deprived.

Thanks to our family for the calls. We are all okay. It was quite and adventure and we are glad that it did not turn out for the worse in Hawaii.

Cars lining the streets

Our bed for the night in our car. Bree was really excited about all the drama! I was really tired...

March Is Our Time of Year!

We've been lucky enough in our marriage to get the chance to travel a lot. Last year we went to Oahu in March and this year we are very lucky to go to Maui! We went to Maui on our honeymoon and I've been wanting to go back ever since.

Next week we will be in this beautiful place...
Yes I know I have a bubble-butt....

And we're taking this crazy girl with us!!!

This is going to be an adventure..... :)
