Student Quotes

Student: If there were Siamese twins that were joined at the head and they shared the same brain, would they be able to see what the other twin was seeing?

Me: Uhhhhhh????

I couldn't help but laugh! Where they come up with these things.... I just don't know:)

One of These Days...

One day I will be a better blogger. But..... For now, I have been way busy and have not thought much about posting. We had a blast on Halloween and a really great Thanksgiving. Hopefully soon I will get some pics up.
I am officially DONE with my student teaching!!! I can't believe it is already over! It was such a great experience and I learned that it is very hard work but I LOVE teaching. I have had a great time getting to know the students and being in front of the classroom. Right now I am a permanent sub teaching the same class. I am very excited to be done with school. I recently finished my senior project. This is the project that I have to complete in order to become a certified teacher. Anyways, I just finished and it is a whopping 91 pages. It is basically a novel.
Right now Tyson is working from home and Bree just got a job at my old work. We are all doing well and are getting very excited for Christmas! Once I figure out how to post pictures with my new camera, I'll be sure to put up some pictures.

How's Things?

Wheeeew! Is it Friday yet??:) Haha. I am about a month into my student teaching so far and I am absolutely LOVING it. I have such a great time teaching and being able to get to know my students. Their responses they give me in class continue to surprise me and make me laugh. After school Tyson likes to ask me what kinds of things my students have been doing in class lately. So i'll share some funny stories with him and we will laugh about it together. I'm just finishing up my first unit and I'm excited to move on to a new subject.

Though I am having such a great time, I never knew how EXHAUSTING this business is. I come home with aching feet and all I want to do is Go To Bed!:) But unfortunately there is always tomorrows lesson plan... Staring me down... Waiting to be planned... As hard as it is though, I am glad for the challenge and for the things I am learning about myself and the things that I can accomplish.

This weekend, Tyson is playing in a golf tournament down in St. George. He get's to play 2 rounds a golf everyday. Isn't he such a hard worker?... ;) As for Bree and I, we will be at home working on school stuff! Whoo Hoo? Haha
Have a great Weekend!

Student Teaching

I started my student teaching about 3 weeks ago now. I was not sure what to expect and waiting for this time to come made me very anxious! It is kind of weird to think that I am finally here. Going through school I felt like the time for me to be student teaching would never come!

But from now until December I am officially a ......

That's right! I am currently doing my student teaching at Lehi Jr. High teaching 7th grade health and one 7th grade boy's P.E. class. I am absolutely loving the experience. For the most part, the students are Great! I have a really good time getting to know them and I especially love getting the chance to be in a classroom teaching. This coming week is when I will start teaching solo and using all of my own lesson plans. So right now I am planning, planning, planning! Getting all my lesson plans ready and making sure I've got all my materials prepared. It is more work than I originally thought, but I still really enjoy it:)

They're here!! Meet the newest members of the family... Francis, a.k.a-the pain in the butt, and Blanch, a.k.a-the favorite one. We got them on Tuesday night and within an hour they escaped and started eating out pear tree. Yup... Don't know what we got ourselves into!

Holy Smokes... Bree is 17!!

Tyson and I really wanted to make sure that Bree had a blast on her birthday and we thought "what better way to celebrate than by going to the lake??" Bree was excited about the idea so we sent an invite to some of her good friends and planned a boating trip for Friday. As many of you know, Tys and I are big on wakeboarding and wakesurfing.

When we signed up to be chaperons of a boat-full of hyped up teens, we didn't realize that we would be doing this....

And this....

Oh, and some more of this....

These guys could play this game ALL day. Carson even lost his shorts on one round!

It was actually really entertaining seeing all these kids get thrashed around on the tube. I'm not gonna lie though... I was a little scared for their lives because this guy....

Showed NO MERCY!

Throughout the day, we did manage to get SOME surfing in. One of Bree's friends was able to surf the wave, without the rope, by the end of the day thanks to our RAD coaching skills.

Bree and Tyson's attempt at Double Surfing. They are Pro!

After about 8 fun hours of baking in the sun, we headed home for some pizza and ice cream. Tyson and I were glad that we could take Bree and her friends to the lake, but next year, we might just send her to the pool instead;)

Love ya Bree! Happy Birth!!

Aiden Marshall Brown

Congrats to Avery and Erin on their new baby boy! Aiden Marshall Brown was born August 12th, 2010. He was 7lbs, 2 oz, and 19 inches long.

Welcome to the fam Aiden!

Marriage at its Best

Nook Nerd!

Tyson bought me a nook for an early birthday present. I LOVE this thing! I am using it so much that Bree and Tyson have started to call me a Nook Nerd:) It is so convenient to have and it is great to use! Thanks for the b.day present Tys!

Greatest Summer Ever!

This summer has been so much fun. We have all been really busy but we still find time to go and have lots of fun. It has been awhile since I've posted anything.... So here some of the updates!

First off, this sassy teen got herself a job working for Mr. Dave Thomas! (otherwise known as Wendy's) She's a pretty good sport about it and Tyson really enjoys the occasional free frosties.

Bree and I had our first time at the Manti pageant. I really enjoyed it but I think Bree and her friends were more interested in all the boys there. Oh brother....

For the 4th of July, we went down to Annabelle which was my first year celebrating down there. It was fun to be able to hang out with the fam and to go to all the Annabelle festivities!

The kids got to decorate their bikes and ride in a bike parade. The boys got really into creating a covered wagon for jaxon to pull Marabelle in (didn't get a pic though).

4th of July Parade

Josh, Alicia, Marabelle, Lou, Me, and Heather watching the parade.
Tyson was on the sidelines begging for candy!

Cute ball player!

I was getting all comfy with my lawn chair and blanket ready to watch the game....

But it turns out they didn't have enough players, so I ended up being one of the few girls to play in the game. It was actually a lot of fun:)

Here's the QuickFix Krew! Bryce, Morgan, Tyson, and Taylor playing in the 3 on 3 basketball tournament. They made it to the championship round and sadly lost to a team that was about 3x their size. Good work Krew!

Mostly, we've been spending lots of time with the new member of our family. Our Super Air Nautique! We LOVE our new boat and we get out as often as we can for some wakeboarding and surfing!

Tyson rippin' it up!

We went to my family reunion in Idaho in July and spent some quality time with this baby on the Snake River. Gwen, Eli, and their new little guy Nash came with us and it was a really fun weekend. Too bad that I am TERRIBLE at taking pictures and only got this one of Bree and the delicious bass she caught the morning we were leaving.

Nice catch Bree!

Dan and Heidi's Wedding

On Saturday, June 5th, my brother Dan and his fiance Heidi got married. Dan and Heidi have been together for about 3 years now. Dan is leaving for the Army this summer and will be gone for over a year and they decided it was time to get hitched!! They held the ceremony/reception in Heidi's parent's back yard. It was a very beautiful wedding and we all had a good time celebrating their marriage.

The Bride and Groom

After the ceremony they had the reception. It was the most perfect day with warm weather and blue skies. We got to hang out with a lot of our family that we don't get to see all the time. Tyson especially loves playing with the little one. This is him and my cousin's new baby Kemson.

Sisters! Me, Patrice, and Bree just havin a good time.

Mulligans with Bree!

On Saturday, Bree and I headed up to South Jordan to help set up for my brother's wedding. Well we finished WAY early and we needed to find something to do until the wedding. We were driving towards the freeway and drove past Mulligans golf course. Neither of us had played mini golf in ages so we decided to go play! It was a bit of an adventure with my crazy sister!

Hole #1. This is where Bree is still acting sane haha

I can never seriously smile....

Looks like a friendly golfer, but don't let her fool you!

This is where Bree starts to lose her mind a little bit. Haha it was really HOT!

Really getting into it.

This is when Bree got pegged by a stray golf ball!

Haunted House

After about 2 hours, we finally finished the course. I'm pretty sure I won...! We had a really fun time but we might just stick to wiffleball from now on:)

Tyson's 26th Birthday!

Friday was Tyson's birthday and it is now tradition to have a BIG BBQ to celebrate his and Eli's birthday. It is always so much fun and it is great to get together with our family and friends.

We had just cleaned our house to get ready for the Party, so we decided to go to IHOP for Tyson's birthday breakfast.
We had about 40 people over for the BBQ! Good thing we have plenty of parking space:) We had lots of yummy food and of coarse birthday cake.
Devin, Shawn, Chelsie and Tyson having a pow-wow.

And of coarse it wouldn't be a BBQ at the Brown's without a little Badminton Comp!

Tyson and Eli opening their birthday gifts.

Birthday Kites! I got one stuck in our apricot tree 10 minutes later... Whoops!

Jana, Julie, Laurel, Marnae, and Shaunae just relaxing and having a good time. Cute girls!

I have the best husband ever! Happy Birthday:)
